Bikaner a city of camel

The next destination in the state of Rajasthan is Bikaner city. There are many beautiful places in the city one needs to visit.
Junagarh Fort is the most visited place by tourists in the city of Bikaner. The magnificent fort was built by Maharaja Rao Bika in the year 1478. This city got its name from the great king Bika. Other rulers in the state have contributed to the restoration and renovation of the big palace located in the city. The big complex of the fort is having temples inside it. The fort looks more attractive by the beautiful work of mirror, frescos, and lacquer.
The Karni Mata temple is there in the state. The temple is a house of many rats. A large number of rats reside here. The temple is devoted to holy Karni Mata who was an incarnation of the goddess Durga. There are about twenty thousand rats in the temple reside there and eat there. The rat population attracts the tourists to the temple.
The institution where many camels are seen is named as a national research center. This is the unique place in the whole state. 3 different breeds are there in the institutions. One can visit the Institute of 2:30 PM to 5 PM. The place is developed into a small museum. Every visitor can easily enjoy a camel ride.
The state is famous for the desert and the desert dunes. Thar desert is located near the Bikaner city. Jeeps and camels are available in the desert to let one enjoy the beauty of the desert. You can go and have a ride in the thar. There are other destinations in the dunes like raiser, khichan, and phlodi.
Rampuria haveli is the perfect place to watch the Rajputana architecture in the country. The haveli is considered to be the best place in the city. There is a group of havelis made by the rampuria family. Dulmera red sandstone represents the antique design of the fort. Golden painting, war armature and woodwork are the things one need to see inside the fort.
Devi Kund Sagar is one of the important places for the royal families in the state. The place is considered to be the cremation ground of the royal families. The place is having many cenotaphs which are the important part of the Rajputana and the Mughals. There are many cenotaphs made in the memory of the great kings. Some cenotaphs are made up of marble and other are made of red sandstone. The pillars in the area have the craving of Lord Krishna and peacocks.
Lalgarh Palace is another beautiful place to visit. Maharaja Ganga Singh built the palace in the early 20th century. The place is now turned into a beautiful hotel. The décor of the hotel and the design of the hotel is pure of Rajputana form. A small museum named Ganga Niwas is situated inside the hotel with a swimming pool in it. Sanskrit manuscripts are written on plaques of gold and silver. The fort is having the sculptures preserved from the civilizations of Harappan, Kushan and Gupta age.
Bikaner camel festival is a festival no one can miss. The state government conducts the festival and lakhs of tourists visit the festival in every season. The local artists perform the folk songs and dances. Camel riders from the country come and enjoy the unique camel races held at the beautiful festival. One can go and have lots of shopping in the mela because authentic handicrafts are available there. The colorful glory of the state is seen in the mela.
