We boarded the roomy, fully-equipped tempo traveller in Delhi to begin our tour. The countryside of Rajasthan was a visual joy, with huge stretches of golden sand, small towns, and sporadic sightings of wildlife. Excitement increased with each mile travelled as we travelled the winding roads.

We were enthralled by Jodhpur’s culinary scene and had regional specialties like mawa kachori, mirchi vada, and dal baati churma. A food lover’s heaven, the busy markets and street food vendors offered a vast variety of flavours and spices that titillated our taste buds.

Umaid Bhawan Palace: Opulence Personified

A visit to Jodhpur would not be complete without exploring the opulent Umaid Bhawan Palace. This magnificent palace, part of which is now a luxury hotel, served as the residence of the royal family. We marveled at its architectural splendor, wandered through the lush gardens, and learned about the fascinating history of the palace.
