You can also drive around the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the House of Parliament of India as they are the seats of power in the country. Conclude your day with a visit to the Qutub Minar, the world’s tallest brick minaret, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for the artistic details of its decoration.

In the evening, you can have dinner at a restaurant with North Indian cuisine, enjoying delicious butter chicken, paneer tikka, and naan.

Day 2: Delhi to Chandigarh (245 km, 4-5 hours drive)

After having breakfast, set out to visit Chandigarh, a city with a favourable architectural design and greenery. The drive takes about 4 to 5 hours, and when you reach Chandigarh, check into your hotel and relax for some time.

When you start your trip, the first thing you should do is do what the locals love doing - visit the famous and must-see Rock Garden of Chandigarh, which is an amazing artwork made entirely of recycled materials. It is a great form of artwork and is one of the most loved tourist spots in the city. Next, head to Sukhna Lake, which is a very calming place where you can take a paddle boat ride in the lake where you can see the views around you. As the evening sets in, head to the Rose Garden, which holds the title of being Asia’s largest rose garden with billions of varieties of flowers.

End your day with dinner at one of the restaurants that serve local cuisine along with Chandigarh specialities like Chole Bhature or other Indian dishes like Lassi.

Day 3: Chandigarh to Amritsar (230 km, 4-5 hours drive)

Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and drive towards the holy city of Amritsar, which is the centre of Sikhism and the location of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib. The distance is about a 4-hour drive, and upon reaching, you can check in to your hotel and set out on a sightseeing tour.

When you set out on your Amritsar tour, start the excursion by visiting the Golden Temple, which is one of the most magnificent places of worship in this country. The image of the golden roof of the temple in the holy water pond is a beautiful picture that can make any mind happy. Roam around the temple premises with melodious tunes playing within and enjoy the free food served at the Gulag, where thousands of meals are served every day.

In the evening, visit the Wagah border to attend the famous Beating the Retreat ceremony. It is an everyday ritual for soldiers on both sides of the Indo-Pak border in which great footwork is displayed with patriotism by their respective soldiers. It is a matter of pride for the countries involved in this practice and hence is a must-visit when visiting Amritsar.

Go back to your hotel and end your itinerary with a wonderful Amritsari Kulcha or Tandoori meal and a relaxing evening.
