Amritsar Delhi Agra Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Amritsar

Your holiday or work trip to Amritsar will be one of the most exciting trips of your life. A representative will meet you at the airport or railway station and help you check in at the hotel. After taking some rest, you may want to visit the Golden Temple which is one of the best holiday destinations for Sikhs around the world. The area around the temple is filled with an atmosphere of peace and serenity. The evening ceremony should not be missed as it enhances the spiritual energy.

You can also go shopping at the local shops in the evening where you will be able to enjoy the best Punjabi cuisine. The food in Amritsar is highly appreciated and you will be able to enjoy Amritsari Kulcha, Chole and Lassi.

Day 2: Amritsar Sightseeing

On the second day of your stay in Amritsar, you will visit Jallianwala Bagh, another historical site that reminds visitors of the inhumane treatment meted out to thousands of Indians during colonial rule. It is a tribute to the ever-resolute Indian struggle for independence.

In the afternoon, immediately head to the Wagah border for the more popular beating the Retreat ceremony. It is a daily event between the Indian and Pakistani border troops. The coordinated, vigorous march past and the official lowering of the flags of both countries is an experience not to be missed.

After this, you can stroll around the nearby bazaars and shop for things like phulkaris, juttis and other spices.

Day 3: Amritsar to Delhi

On the third day, you will leave for Delhi from Amritsar. A morning flight or train can be decided at your convenience. On reaching Delhi, check in to your hotel and take some rest.
Later in the evening, tourists can visit India Gate, which is a war memorial built for soldiers. Take a stroll around India Gate and the gardens around it. You can also visit Connaught Place, which is one of the busiest shopping and eating centres in Delhi.

Day 4: Delhi Sightseeing

The city of Delhi has a fascinating blend of modernity and history. Today, check out some of its everyday architectural highlights. First, tourists are advised to visit the Red Fort, which is a symbol of India's history and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After that, visit the Jama Masjid which is one of the largest mosques in India, located a short distance from the fort.

After that, visit Rajghat, India's most iconic monument, which also gives information about Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy. In the afternoon, visit the Qutub Minar, the second UNESCO World Heritage Site in India and the world's tallest brick minaret.

If you are still free, you can wait to see the mouth-watering Lotus Temple and Humayun's Tomb, the building that inspired the design of the Taj Mahal.

Day 5: Delhi to Agra

On the fifth day of the itinerary, tourists will travel by car from Delhi to Agra, which takes about 4 to 5 hours. After reaching Agra, stay at the hotel and take some rest before starting the sightseeing tour at the Agra Fort. Situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, this beautiful fort was primarily the residence of the Mughal emperors.

Later in the evening, stroll around the nearby markets known as bazaars, where a variety of marble artefacts, leather items and Agra's traditional edible petha are sold.

Day 6: Agra to Delhi Departure

The last day of the tour begins with a mesmerizing view of the Taj Mahal in the morning. The first rays of the sun falling on the white marble dome of the monument create a mesmerizing effect that distracts you from everything else. Take your time to soak in the beauty of this famous symbol of love.

After the Taj Mahal, return to the hotel and have breakfast and then visit the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah, which is popularly known as the “Baby Taj” because of its delicate marble work.

In the evening, you will leave for Delhi and catch your flight or train back home and that will be the end of your wonderful 6-day Amritsar Delhi Agra tour.
