Your 9-day trip to Rajasthan will begin from Delhi. After breakfast, you will leave for Mandawa. Mandawa is a lovely town known for its beautiful havelis and graffitied walls. When you reach there, check in to your hotel and relax. After that, go on an excursion to see the sights of Mandawa. Visit the Mandawa Fort, the painted havelis in the Shekhawati region, and the beautiful graffiti depicting mythology. You can also stroll through the bustling bazaar and taste some local cuisine at your leisure in the evening.
You will spend your time having breakfast and then head to Bikaner, a city full of history. Bikaner's large forts, palaces, and churches are famous. When you get there, check in to your hotel and have lunch. In the afternoon, a visit to Junagarh Fort is a must. It is one of the best-preserved forts in Rajasthan. The walls of the fort are adorned with beautiful carvings that make them stand out. Bhandasar Jain Temple and Karni Mata Temple are must-sees. The Karni Mata Temple is home to thousands of rats. In the evening, stroll through the busy local markets. Then, head back to your hotel for the night.
Your trip takes you to Jaisalmer on the third day. This city is also called the "Golden City" because of its yellow sandstone buildings. You should bring some snacks and drinks with you as the drive will be long. When you reach Jaisalmer, check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, folk music and dance will be performed at the hotel as part of a traditional Rajasthani culture show. There is no other place like Jaisalmer. You will feel like you have gone back in time seeing how high the forts and churches are in the desert. Jaisalmer Fort, also known as Sonar Qila, is one of the largest living forts in the world. This will be part of today's tour. Inside the fort complex see beautiful Jain temples and royal houses that showcase the beauty of Rajasthan. After lunch, visit the Sam Sand Dunes and Patwon Ki Haveli, a beautiful example of the Rajasthani building. Take a camel ride and enjoy the spectacular views as the sun sets in the desert.
After breakfast, leave Jaisalmer and head to Jodhpur, which is called the "Blue City" because the houses here are blue. When you get there, check in to your hotel and relax. In the afternoon, you should visit the beautiful Mehrangarh Fort, which stands high above the city. Inside, several museums reflect the royal past of the region. Also, visit the beautiful marble monument called Jaswant Thada, which was built in honour of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. In the evening, stroll through the busy shops near the Clock Tower and try some of Jodhpur's famous snacks.
The sixth day of your trip will take you to Jaipur, which is the capital of Rajasthan and is also known as the "Pink City". When you reach Jaipur after a long drive, check in to your hotel. The City Palace is a beautiful blend of Mughal and Rajasthani architecture. In the afternoon, you will visit Jantar Mantar, an old astronomical observatory that is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In the evening you will have time for yourself, so you can stroll through the busy markets and see the unique crafts made by the locals.
First thing in the morning, visit the Amer Fort. It is a large fort in the hills just outside Jaipur. To reach the fort, you can either walk or ride an elephant. After exploring the Amer Fort, visit the Hawa Mahal, also known as the "Palace of the Winds." It is a beautiful pink sandstone palace famous for its fancy windows from which the royal women could watch life on the street without being noticed. After lunch, learn more about the history of Rajasthan by visiting the Jal Mahal (Water Palace) and the Albert Hall Museum. In the evening, you can go shopping in the glittering bazaars of Jaipur, where you can find everything from clothes to jewellery.
The Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world and is located in this city. When you get there, check in to your hotel and relax. After lunch, visit the Taj Mahal. It is a mausoleum made of white marble that was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in honour of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. This famous building is a masterpiece of Mughal design, and no other building is as beautiful as this one. In the evening, visit the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and take a stroll along the Yamuna River to see the Taj Mahal at sunset in a serene atmosphere.
On the last day, you will head back to Delhi. When you arrive there, either check-in at your hotel or the airport, depending on when your flight is. If you still have time, do some last-minute shopping or go sightseeing in Delhi. India Gate, Humayun's Tomb and the Lotus Temple are all famous places to visit.
