Your journey begins with your arrival in Delhi. After meeting with the driver, you will drive towards Jhunjhunu, a town known for its stunning havelis and frescoes. The drive takes around 6-7 hours. Upon reaching Jhunjhunu, check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, you can take a walk through the narrow lanes of Jhunjhunu and admire the grand havelis adorned with beautiful paintings and intricate architecture.
On Day 2, proceed towards Salasar after breakfast. Salasar is famous for the Salasar Balaji Temple, a significant religious site for Hanuman devotees. Many pilgrims visit this temple throughout the year to seek blessings. After you visit the temple, take some time to enjoy the calm atmosphere and the local market, where you can find religious souvenirs and artefacts.
After spending time in Salasar, drive to Khatu Shyam Ji, another important pilgrimage spot. The Khatu Shyam Ji Temple holds special significance for devotees of Lord Krishna. According to legend, Khatu Shyam is an incarnation of Barbarika, a brave warrior from the Mahabharata. Upon reaching Khatu, visit the temple, offer your prayers, and learn about the fascinating history of the site. Don’t forget to taste the local sweets, which are offered as prasad at the temple.
Start your fourth day by heading to the holy town of Pushkar, famous for its Brahma Temple and Pushkar Lake. Once you arrive, visit the Brahma Temple, which is one of the very few temples dedicated to Lord Brahma in the world. Take a peaceful walk around the holy lake and witness the evening aarti (prayer ceremony), which fills the air with chants and a spiritual ambience. Pushkar is also known for its vibrant markets, where you can shop for handmade jewellery, clothes, and unique souvenirs.
On the fifth day, travel to Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, known as the Pink City. Jaipur is rich in history, and you can explore its famous forts, palaces, and bazaars. Begin your Jaipur journey by visiting the City Palace, a blend of Mughal and Rajasthani architecture. Then head to the nearby Jantar Mantar, an ancient observatory that showcases impressive astronomical instruments.
In the afternoon, visit the famous Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds. This stunning five-story building was designed so that royal women could observe street festivals without being seen. As the sun sets, visit Jaipur’s bustling markets like Bapu Bazaar and Johari Bazaar for traditional clothes, jewellery, and handicrafts.
On Day 6, continue exploring Jaipur by visiting the iconic Amber Fort, located on the outskirts of the city. Take an elephant ride or drive up to the fort, which is set on a hill overlooking Maota Lake. Inside, you’ll find beautiful courtyards, palaces, and temples. Later, visit the Jaigarh Fort, which houses the world’s largest cannon, and the Nahargarh Fort for panoramic views of the city.
In the afternoon, relax and enjoy some local Rajasthani food at one of the traditional restaurants in the city. You can also visit the Albert Hall Museum, which displays a rich collection of artefacts, sculptures, and paintings.
On the final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel before starting your journey back to Delhi. The drive back will take approximately 5-6 hours. Upon arrival in Delhi, you can continue your onward journey with fond memories of your Rajasthan tour.
